Your privacy
What this website stores, what it shares and what you can do about it, in plain English.
Last updated 11 October 2026
- No cookies, no ads and no tracking or analytics.
- You can browse the whole site without giving us anything.
- Signing in to "My characters" only tells us your Cfx.re username and account ID.
- Nobody else can see your characters' details through the website.
Browsing the site
The home page, stats page and everything else work without an account. We don't use cookies, analytics or advertising, and we don't build any profile of you.
Like any website, our web host may keep short-lived access logs (such as IP addresses and the pages requested) to keep the site running and secure. We don't use them to identify anyone.
Other services the site uses
To work, your browser loads a few things from other companies. They receive your IP address, as any website you visit would:
- Google Fonts: the Inter typeface.
- jsDelivr: a small library for smooth scrolling.
- Cfx.re: the public FiveM server list, for the player count; and forum.cfx.re, if you choose to sign in.
The background video is hosted on this site, not on YouTube.
City stats
The stats page shows totals for the whole city: player counts, jobs, money in circulation and vehicles. It never shows anyone's character names or balances.
"Who's online" lists the FiveM display name and ping of players connected right now, the same information the FiveM server browser shows to everyone.
Signing in with Cfx.re ("My characters")
When you sign in, Cfx.re asks you to approve our website with the most limited permission it offers. Here's what happens:
- We learn your Cfx.re username, account ID and profile picture. That's all the permission allows: we can't read your messages or post anything.
- The forum key is revoked straight away. Our server checks who you are, then cancels the key. You can confirm in your Cfx.re forum preferences under Apps.
- You get a sign-in token that lasts up to 7 days. It's kept in your browser and in our game server's memory, not in a database, and a server restart signs everyone out.
- You see only your own characters: the ones linked to your Cfx.re account when you play. No one else can view them through the website.
The "richer than X% of characters" figure is a percentage only. It doesn't reveal anything about other players.
What's kept in your browser
Only when you use "My characters". None of these are cookies.
| Name | What it's for | How long |
|---|---|---|
nova-portal-session | Your sign-in token, so you stay signed in | Until you sign out, or 7 days |
nova-portal-client | A random ID for this browser, which Cfx.re shows in its list of apps you've approved | Until you clear site data |
nova-portal-pending | A one-time key used while you're on forum.cfx.re, deleted as soon as you're back | A few minutes at most |
Playing on the server
When you join the game server, it stores what it needs to run your characters, such as your game identifiers (Rockstar license, and your Cfx.re and Discord IDs if you're signed in) along with your characters' progress. That's part of playing on the server rather than the website; the website only displays parts of it as described above.
Your choices
- Sign out on the "My characters" page to remove the token from your browser and end the session on our server.
- Clear this site's data in your browser settings to remove everything listed above.
- Questions, or want your data removed? Contact our staff on Discord.
